Your path: Monitoring | Fact Sheets

TOMM Fact Sheets display data collected from Visitor Exit Surveys, Resident Surveys and other sources on Kangaroo Island. They display data in an easy to interpret fashion and can assist managers and the community to make informed decisions about the future of tourism on Kangaroo Island.

TOMM has been collecting data on Kangaroo Island since 2000. This information is collected through TOMM in a variety of forms, including:

  • Visitor Exit Survey, completed by visitors at the airport and on the ferry;
  • Annual Resident Survey, completed annually via a random telephone survey of 10% of the Island’s population; and
  • Environmental data collected by partner agencies data such as wildlife population information.

The trends that TOMM displays can be used to predict change and help people to test and discuss new ideas in an informed and rational manner. This information will allow managers and the community to make more informed decisions in relation to the management of tourism and the provision of services on Kangaroo Island.

These publications have been produced by TOMM as a way of communicating the results of the TOMM research and generating awareness regarding the Project's objectives. A great variety of detailed information is presented in the Vistor Exit Surevy and Resident Survey Reports.  Fact Sheetes are produced for other information collected outside of these processes.

There are several Fact Sheets that have been produced under the Leave Only Footprints Project, including:
